Entry: Infiniti EX35 Is Top Safety Pick Thursday, January 10, 2008

If you are looking for a safe vehicle to buy, I'm sure that you would first think about buying a Volvo.  The Swedish automaker has created a name for itself in the global auto market as the manufacturer of very safe vehicles.   But the demand for more safe vehicles means that the Scandinavian legend is no longer the only automaker offering safe vehicles.

Take for example the Infiniti EX35.  The said vehicle recently received the coveted Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.  This award is the highest rating that the IIHS gives away.  In order to have that one rating under a vehicle's belt, it should first pass front, rear, and side crash tests conducted by the Institute.  Apart from that, it should also be equipped with an electronic stability control which has been proven to have reduced the risk of rollover accidents.

Adrian Lund, the chairman of the Institute, had this to say according to The Auto Channel:  "Criteria to win are tough because the award is intended to drive continued safety improvements such as top crash test ratings and rapid addition of electronic stability control, which is standard equipment on the EX35.  Recognizing vehicles at the head of the class for safety helps consumers distinguish the best overall choices without having to sort through multiple test results."

Lund also pointed out that the EX35 is one vehicle which has set a benchmark for its class.  "The EX35 is a leader in its class for state-of-the-art safety.  You don't know what kind of crash you're going to be in. That's why it's important to choose a vehicle that will protect you in all kinds of crashes. The Top Safety Pick designation is intended to help people find the safest choices," he shared.
