Scuderia Ferrari is an Italian sports car manufacturer based in Maranello
and Modena, Italy. It was founded by Enzo
Ferrari in 1929. Scuderia Ferrari
is the name for the division of the Ferrari automobile company concerned with
racing. It was founded in 1929 competed in F1 in 1948 so it is statistically
the oldest and the most successful team that was included in the F1
championship today.
Today the team’s current drivers
are Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen after the retirement of Michael Schumacher.
Michael Schumacher is a former Formula 1 driver, and
seven-time world champion. He retired at the end of the 2006 season after
winning the World Championship seven times. He holds many records in Formula 1,
including most drivers' championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole
positions, points scored and most races won in a single season. After his
retirement Formula One figures such as Niki Lauda and David Coulthard hailed
Schumacher as the greatest all-round racing driver in the history of Formula
One.
But in his latest news,
Schumacher will drive a Ferrari F2007 used this year by Kimi Raikkonen, the
newly crowned world champion, at a two-day test in Barcelona. Although Ferrari has said that the
decision to give Schumacher an opportunity behind the wheel is not indicative
of plans to revive his racing career. It was confirmed by Sabine Kehm,
Schumacher’s assistant “The test really does not indicate anything, especially
not his desire to come back to racing.” Kehm said.
The announcement of the test in Spain follows Schumacher’s appearance at Valencia.
